I’m slowly introducing you all to our panel of Hysteria 2012 Short Story and Poetry Competition Judges. I’ve asked them all the same six questions and there are some surprising answers. Our sixth judge is … Anna Derham and here she tells you a little more about herself.
Tell me one thing no-one knows about you.
If I told you, I’d have to kill you… 🙂
What do you enjoy reading the most and why?
I just love a good piece of historical fiction, though I couldn’t tell you why. I’ve been reading it since I was about 11. Reading is my biggest pleasure, nothing else matters when you’ve got a great story in your hands.
If there was one book or piece of writing you wish you had written what would it be?
Too many to choose from, but I think John Fowles’ The French Lieutenant’s Woman.
What prompted you to volunteer to be a judge in Hysteria 2012?
I enjoy reading and I have the time to do it. There are some very talented people out there.
Have you written a book or a poem? If so what is the title and where can we find it (if it’s available to buy)?
Noooo! They say everyone has a book inside them, but I think mine is staying on the inside.
If there was a film of your life who would play you and why?
Kathy Burke. She’s intelligent and funny, and quite brilliant.
